Privacy policy
Last updated: 2026-06-03
Short version: there is almost nothing to have a policy about. Cold Plunge Calc is a static site that runs in your browser. We do not have user accounts, we do not run our own analytics on your sessions, and we cannot see the plunges you log.
What you enter and where it lives
Your safety answers, calculator inputs, logged sessions, unit preference, and streaks are stored only in your own browser, using localStorage. They never leave your device and are never sent to us, because there is no server to send them to.
Clearing your browser data, or using a different browser or device, will wipe or separate these records. There is no "sync" and no recovery — that is the trade-off for keeping everything local and private.
Third parties we rely on
Being honest about the few external pieces involved:
- Hosting / CDN: the site is served by a content delivery network, which — like all web hosts — keeps standard, short-lived server logs (such as IP address and requested file) for security and reliability. We do not use these to profile you.
- Fonts and icons: some typefaces and icons load from public CDNs. Your browser contacts those CDNs to fetch the files, which is normal web behaviour.
Cookies and tracking
At the time of writing, the site sets no tracking cookies and runs no cross-site advertising or behavioural analytics. If that ever changes (for example, adding privacy-respecting visitor counts or ads to keep the tool free), this page will be updated first and will explain exactly what is used.
Your control
Because your data lives only in your browser, you are already in full control: clear your site data at any time to erase everything Cold Plunge Calc has stored. No request to us is needed.
